Hardscrabble Theater


Hardscrabble has been producing shows since 2017, and they were looking to update their branding and revitalize their logo to a simpler, cleaner look.
A new logo concept was designed to present to Hardscrabble. It is currently under approval. The logo uses iconography to symbolize the theaters work, a spotlight and the comedic drama mask.
Social Media Marketing
Hardscrabble Theater is relatively new to social media. This means having to create a strategy that provides exposure, and steady follower growth. Community theaters rely on audience members to purchase tickets, and performers to attend auditions. Hardscrabble has three accounts: Facebook, Instagram and TikTok that we use to promote shows and post audition notices. We are implementing a short-form media strategy that consists of 2-3 posts per day with clear messaging educating viewers on Hardscrabble, and upcoming events.

Graphic Design
It is important for my designs to best represent a brand and its messaging. Hardscrabble requested a logo that could be easily replicated for merchandise such as t-shirts or hats.
The "H" forms a spotlight. A necessity in theatrical productions, it also symbolizes the importance of local theater to the community.
Hardscrabble is one of the few theaters on Long Island that hosts comedy and improv nights. It is why the comedy mask is best suited to the group.
The slogan "Where Art Thrives" was a nod to the definition of Hardscrabble, meaning uncultivable or barren.
